This department is responsible for personnel functions of the city, the preparation and administration of the city's annual budget, coordination among all city departments on a wide variety of issues, coordination with outside agencies, and daily public relations activities. The City Manager manages the day-to-day operations and internal affairs of the city and develops policies, procedures, and processes to implement the decisions of the City Council. The City Manager also advises the Mayor and City Council on policy issues and is the primary contract negotiator for all agreements and property-related transactions for the city. The City Manager coordinates all legal issues with the City Attorney. The City Manager also serves as personnel director and maintains a positive and effective work environment for 60 regular and 30 seasonal employees.
Assistant City Manager
The Assistant City Manager is the “second in command” at the City of Moab. The Assistant City Manager performs a variety of professional, administrative, and managerial duties related to planning, directing and controlling the administrative processes necessary to carry out the effective operation of the City, supporting the City Manager and the City Council in the day-to-day tasks required to run the City, and providing leadership citywide to both the public and City staff.
Executive Administrative Assistant
The administrative assistant is the first contact for the public as they enter City Hall. This key position handles phone inquiries of all varieties.
Communications and Engagement Manager
The City of Moab's Communications and Engagement Manager collaborates with area residents and inform and educate our community about City government services, projects, events, and activities. Communications staff also serves as the direct contact for media inquiries.
The City of Moab's Sustainability Director takes a leadership role in championing volunteer efforts to preserve and conserve natural resources and promote a cleaner, healthier environment, and works with staff and the community to help the City meet its goals of future energy independence.
Senior Projects Manager
With a particular focus on affordable housing-related policy and projects for the City of Moab, the Senior Projects Manager handles complex, cross-departmental initiatives, provides strategic guidance to staff and the governing body, addresses sensitive community concerns, and represents the City at high-level meetings and gatherings.
