Visitor Information

Moab welcomes approximately one million people into its community each year, so if you visit us, you'll find Moab well equipped to take care all of your needs.

Most parks and activities are no more than 35 miles away from downtown Moab, but you may want to use Moab as your home base to travel throughout the region. Moab is home to dozens of motels, bed and breakfast homes, condominiums, and campgrounds. You will surely find accommodations that we give you a relaxing, comfortable stay in our community.

You'll also find a variety of restaurants, including your children's favorite fast food chains to award-winning continental cuisine. There's no need to worry if you left a bag sitting on your kitchen counter back home; you can find just about anything you might need for your vacation including pharmaceuticals, camping supplies, car parts and service, clothing, hiking boots, water gear, and any other essentials right here in Moab.

The community has grown up welcoming visitors from around the world and is well-equipped to take care of all of your needs. Moab has several family practice physicians, a surgeon, three dentists, three pharmacies, an optometrist, an optician, and a hospital to care for any medical needs you might encounter while visiting the community. There are two national parks and one state park within a few miles of Moab. Arches National Park is only 5 miles north of downtown and Canyonlands National Park, Island in the Sky District is only 32 miles away. Just off the road to Island in the Sky is Dead Horse Point State Park. Just 55 miles south of Moab is the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. All major roads to the parks and within these parks are paved. However, there are no service stations or restaurants located in the parks, so fill up your gas tank and stock up on snacks before you leave for your day's outing in the surrounding lands.

Water is in short supply in the desert, so it's wise to carry an extra jug or two with you on your excursions throughout the Canyonlands area. There are multiple places to get information, maps, and guidebooks which will help you make the most of your stay. There is an abundant amount of information about Moab on the internet.
