If you are considering expanding or opening a business in Moab, please call the Moab Economic Development office (435-259-5121) for information on programs that can help you get started. Local business incentives include Enterprise Zone and Recycling Zone tax credits, access to revolving loan funds, entrepreneur training and counseling, expedited permitting, and more. Please contact the Moab City Treasuer's Office at (435) 259-5123 to license your business within City limits.

TAXES

The City of Moab does not have a city property tax. The City does have Resort Community and Highway taxes. These taxes, collected on retail sales, total 1.75 percent, and are in addition to state and other sales taxes. Visitors staying in city overnight accommodations pay an additional 1.5 percent transient room tax, along with other state and county taxes. Property taxes are collected by Grand County, the Grand School District, and various local and regional taxing entities (water conservancy, mosquito abatement, fire protection, etc.) For information call the Grand County Assessor, 435-259-1327.

UTILITIES

The City of Moab provides water, sewer, and garbage pickup service to city residents. To report a water or sewer problem call Moab City Public Works (435-259-7485). Standard telephone service is provided by Frontier Communications (866-716-1619). Numerous companies offer cell phone plans. Broadband internet service is provided by Frontier Communications (866-716-1619) and Precis Cable (800-924-7662). Rocky Mountain Power (888-221-7070) supplies electricity. Questar (435-259-7137) supplies Moab homes with natural gas service. Cable television is provided by Precis Cable (800-924-7662). Satellite TV is also available from various providers. The Moab Chamber of Commerce (435-259-7814) represents the interests of Moab businesses and promotes a friendly, supportive business environment. The Times Independent (435-259-7525) prints weekly and covers local news and events. Moab is served by two radio stations, KCYN (97.1 FM, country music format) and KZMU (90.1 FM, community radio).
